Completely ridiculous. I can't for the life of me see where this benefits the fans. The club would be better making sure the lighting works.

The Burnley FC ISA is inviting feedback about today's match experience, might be good for you to use this link if you haven't seen the thread.Rick_Muller wrote: ↑Sat Aug 23, 2025 6:07 pmThing is, I was angry but calm. But because I wanted to have my say and he kept talking over me so I raised my voice asking him to be quiet. Apparently that’s offensive behaviour and he needed security to try and intimidate me more. I will be making a formal complaint about the way I was treated, but it won’t get me anywhere I don’t think.

Not having the away coaches makes a massive difference to Harry Potts Way.
Agree and got to say avoiding the away fans on Belvedere Road was a bonus.
Re: Access for home fans
As a regular James Hargreaves/Longside block 4, it certainly took longer to get out and towards town than the usual exit straight up past the cricket club.
But it wasn't as bad as I expected to be honest. For people that probably use that exit it anyway it made little difference.
I'd still prefer to be able to head straight up to belvedere road and across like usual, but meh.
If Pace and the American money concerned guys behind him(we've seen them on the PL mission to Burnley documetary.. really focused on money) if they want to cut the routes off to try and squeeze more money out of the fans with the fanzone, what can we do?
I'm just glad I wasn't stood still for 30 minutes waiting to get out.. which I was expecting.

Did they show that on sky?
I was on the game. But I did check my phone during the floodlight disaster, and on SSN they showed a zoomed up shot of Pace looking very uncomfortable/not happy.
I said to my mate, somebody is getting told off or sacked tonight after seeing that ha.

That will have to stay shut otherwise there is nowhere for the JMU fans to queue to enter the turnstiles.

Much better experience in the CFS. Automated ticket scanner, a LOT more room, better atmosphere (maybe due to the score), easier route out afterwards.
The added bonus is that no one seems to have died.

He was though. We walked past him talking to a family in the fanzone car park. It was funny as shall we say a mature lady with her grandson walk past and said in an angry voice “he’s a moron that man, a moron”. And no I can assure you she didn’t say Mormon.

Getting in was no problem ... however the crush coming out behind Jimmy Mac is not good and that was 10 minutes after final whistle
Re: Access for home fans
I thought I was early getting there today Bosscat but blimey you must have been extra early, You’ll probably have to make a decision either to leave early or stay for a short while after the final whistle.

Re: Access for home fans
Getting out better than I expected but it still took an extra 10 minutes. That meant traffic was tricky getting to Gannow Top. Not a better experience put it that way.
I suspect after a win that people hang around so the buildup was a bit delayed and I dodged it. It won't be pleasant in the dark after a defeat in December when lashing down and everyone departs together. But better than I feared so far.
Unrelated but I thought the away end seemed bigger and louder, and having the anthem and hoarding facing Alan Pace deprives the majority of fans, including the mascot parents, from seeing it which doesn't bother me but is a shame. That, and the new deafening loudspeakers, didn't enhance my day either. But on the flipside I enjoyed my Haffners pie and the walk on music was good.

Re: Access for home fans
Denied entry to the CF stand, as were everyone else with tickets in block 11, and had to stand around whilst they tried to sort it.
I set off early, was in the ticket office at 12.15 to ask for a physical seasonbticket card, request denied and told that cards are only being given out in extreme circumstances. Surely me not trusting QR code entry and my polite request would be sufficient, but no.
Only to arrive at the turnstile at 2.25 and my QR code denied me entry. If I recall, someone put on here somewhere that block 11 had a issue and they were aware of it. If that's the case, why wait until folk turn up before resolving it?
Today really did add to my fan experience, but not in the way Mr Pace would like.
I do hope the club contact those affected to offer an apology atleast.

Re: Access for home fans
My only take away from the changes in access and seating in the CFS is that we are now able to accommodate more away fans equalling more£s. Maybe I'm missing something, but that was my overriding impression of today. Otherwise it's been utterly pointless.
Aside from that the 2 people sat next to me missed 25 minutes because their QR code season tickets wouldn't work. That's extremely poor.

Re: Access for home fans
The changes meant that in order not to get stuck in traffic I had to leave ten minutes earlier than usual! For those of us that have a long journey home, having a clean getaway can save thirty minutes from being in a queue.
Not happy.

Doddle to get in and even easier to get out. Cant believe theyve given more seats to away fans than before though. Seems a bit wierd if you want to create an intimidating atmosphere.

No issues at all honestly
CFS fans having scanning issues needs sorting of course but the away coaches out of the way was much better …
I imagine on 2-3 games this will be a non issue

Re: Access for home fans
Absolutely shocking today. Locked outside the ground with a couple of hundred others due to the QR codes for CFS block 11 not working.
Crowd getting increasing frustrated as kick off drew nearer and police could only laugh at people in a troubled situation whilst countless stewards and supposedly superior colleagues in suits running around like headless chickens.
Finally got to 14:55 and the Chinese whispers hit us from fellow supporters that the tickets should now work, no official announcement from any steward or BFC official.
Became quite uncomfortable for a while sort of being in the crush outside the CFS of fans queueing to enter and fans not being able to enter.
An absolute shambles which we all knew would happen and no one in a club capacity had a clue what to do about it.

Getting in , JHL zero issues , getting out no issues but very very slow through the gates . That said was fine tbh. I’d be more concerned about the shocking decision to move the CFS lot over to the Bob Lord end .Though a workmanlike win so who cares

If a whole section is not working and no one can fix it quickly/ever, surely the stewards should vet the ticket and release the gate. They could keep a 5 bar gate count and add up at the end.Barry_Chuckle wrote: ↑Sat Aug 23, 2025 6:55 pmDenied entry to the CF stand, as were everyone else with tickets in block 11, and had to stand around whilst they tried to sort it.

They could do that with all QR denials and make a note ot take a pic of the ticket. Ort afterwards.

I walked from Wiseman Road through town and then all around the back to the far end of Longside Upper, where access was easier.
The long walk back has knackered my gammy leg.

That was my suggestion to a club official who looked waaaaay out of his depth. Its not rocket science surely.
The turnstile started to accept block 11 tickets at 10 to 3, butcas said previously, someone had put on this site either yesterday that the club were aware block 12 had an issue for entry, so was it not resolved before 2pm today?

Re: Access for home fans
Pleasantly surprised today, few glitches in CFS but as a whole I preferred it.
I tried to get down to the concourse steps for as soon as the final whistle went and had a quick jog back to the car.
I beat the usual rush I'm caught in because of the shorter trip to the car so missed loads of the traffic I get caught up in. Back home for 6:30 when it's usually gone 7pm so that's a bonus too.
The beer tent seemed better than the old CFS concourse... The only issue ws the stewards stood in the middle of the steps up to seats before kick off adding to the squeeze but they moved on when this was pointed out to them.
Considering people wouldn't know where there seats are etc it went pretty smooth and was surrounded by the regulars around us from last season.
I was a bit worried it would cause some havoc for the CFS switch but I can't really find anything to complain about bar the crush trying to get in.

Re: Access for home fans
I think the biggest expected disruption was for the north stand [Longside fans] and that impacting on the family stand fans.
Cricket stand fans from the usual cricket club only have a short journey around the corner to the entrance.. compared to Longside fans.
Then leaving the game, a full circle around as opposed to straight up and out.

Re: Access for home fans
Getting out was nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be. The congestion near the club shop was no worse than it used to be going up Ormerod Yard. We got lost briefly in the Holcombe Drive estate trying to find Belvedere Road, but I think I know the way now. It probably adds five minutes to my walk back to the car, but no more than that.
My suggest to make it even easier would be to create a couple of gaps in the fence between the Memorial Garden and the back of the Jimmy Mac stand, that would ease the congestion near the club shop even further.

Re: Access for home fans
North Stand Upper Block 6, usually enter via Ormerod Yard having parked on Belverdere Rd. Chose to park off Bank Parade, went to Bridge then Dyche and walked in no problems. The home end of CFS seems smaller, but they were making a good noise. New sound system was LOUD but clear. Only Burnley could contrive to stop a game, with a lighting system going in to ‘dance mode’. Almost beats the parachutist on the roof of the CFS for ridiculousness.
Leaving was a bit of a shuffle past the ‘bottle neck’, but no worse than going up Ormerod Yard, though I do worry about night matches.
Important three points. UTC

Re: Access for home fans
Yeah our home support definitely looked smaller in the cricket field stand, but I never saw people complaining online about losing their seats in the Cricket stand? Unless some naturally gave them up upon the change without a fuss?
But yes, the Burnley fans in the Cricket stand looked far smaller than the visiting fans today.

I didn't notice anyone panicking, just people like me ****** off because they are forced to walk round the entire ground to get to their seat, and back again afterwards.
What people say about their 'matchday experience' will very much depend on where they sit in the ground. I imagine a majority will have experienced no (or little ) difference.
