hampstead - I wholeheartedly agree with you on this, however I would like to point out that should you be knowingly employed as someone who's job it is to be as you put it
"grabbed and touched up and sexually harassed....treated like a piece of meat" then that is what you should expect. I have a good friend who was a male stripper not too long back and he told me of the many things that he was subjected to by hen parties and all women groups (used that term because of the thread title) - I will not repeat them on this public forum, but these acts of depravity on him were a lot worse than being groped by someone. However, as he said to me, it was par for the course - it was his job and whilst the actions are morally abhorrent, he was well paid for it as were these hostesses. There were of course incidents that he did agree to as well and he did find certain sexual acts acceptable, as I am sure some of these hostesses would have experienced too - but we wont hear about any positives from the media will we...?
The question in this case for me is that of naivety on the part of the hostesses - in that, if they were that naive to believe that this wasn't going to be a risk of the job why did they take the job and take the money for it? IMO this is a media frenzy to have a go at public figures.
Now, with all that said, I think this behaviour by the rich and powerful men at this party is wrong and it is an abuse of power. Whether it should be stopped or not is up for discussion, because whilst there are women who dont want to be subject to sexual abuse at work, there are many who would, and have, put a price on their bodies to allow this to happen - so trying to ban these types of parties wont actually solve anything as sex does sell.
