Leeds, as a city, is absolutely mad about football. They all support Leeds too.
They can't go anywhere without singing about Leeds, and as for pride in who they support and where they're from it knocks Burnley fans, and many other clubs, into a cocked hat.
Facts Not Fiction
The Official Population Of Mighty Leeds - 715,404 - 73,021 Burnley Population a 10th of Leeds
Last Five Championship Season Average - 26,152 - 14,490 Burnley Average Last 5 Championship seasons
Crowd As Percentage of Population Leeds - 3.67% - 19.85% Burnley Crowds 5 x Larger Per head of Population
Crowd as a percentage of ground capacity 69% - 66% Burnley
Even If you want to add The population that Burnley FC pull from un opposed by another football Club by including Pendle
It's only around 170,000 and including shares of Great Harwood, Accrington & Rossendale West Yorkshire you could raise it to 250.000 still would make the crowds against populous around 6% against Leeds 3.67%
Though you'd then have to look At Football Clubs competing for their Support
Bradford & Huddersfield to the West Sharing a lot of people
Virtually un opposed to the North East & South (York, Hull & Doncaster miles away & two are minnows)
To the East of Burnley Bradford and Huddersfield but hardly any population OH & MIGHTY LEEDS
To the South Manchester Utd, Manchester City, 2 of the biggest richest Clubs in the World
To the West Bolton, Blackburn Rovers & Preston Etc
Further to the West Liverpool & Everton
To the North of Pendle Very sparsely populated and if you look at Skipton for example, it's Yorkshire and Leeds have at least as big a pull.
If You do the exercise, that sets Burnleys territory At 250,000, for Leeds too, then they would be heading for way way over a million people and they'd be heading for 2% against Burnleys 6% of attending populous that they command.
