Promotion will just get harder each season we stay down. As we will have to sell our best players each season.Colburn_Claret wrote: ↑Fri Jul 22, 2022 8:24 pmNo one said the club aren't arsed about promotion. We all want it, but there is a reality to what we can achieve.
If you watch the video 'Kompany meets the Lads' on Clarets+, it is clear that it is going to take time. As VK said, it's a lot more complicated than spreading out and making space.
Making sure you don't overload zones of the pitch.
The weight of the pass.
The timing of runs.
The angles of the pass.
Just as SD didn't park the bus, there is a science behind everything we did, and there is a science behind everything that VK wants. He has warned the players that it could take 3, 4 or 5 months to get it right. Rather like driving a car, to the point where you can play the system 'without' thinking about it. WHEN they get it, they will love it, and so will we.
BUT, that takes time, and time means that although we want promotion it will take a very quick learning curve from all the squad, to achieve it. It also means that we fans have to be patient, and support the players when it doesn't quite come off.
As much as Kompany needs time to get his system across we need a quick start.
