Re: January transfer window rumours.
If McNally does well at Cov, they may want to keep him in the summer (all 5 of their back 5 will be loanees if he signs, with most of them at Chelsea / City / Arsenal). You never know but it could help up sweeten a deal for the Swedish striker or Gustavo Hamer (centre mid).

We should asking for a £15 million loan fee if it is Coventry.

haha, no worries, just joshing. I've been seriously impressed with his finishing.
Re: January transfer window rumours.
If McNally does ok at Coventry and based on us just signing two more defenders, there could be a good deal in summer involving him and Gyokeres.

Everyday gets a little bit more depressing for Everton. Spurs have nicked their player they were about to announce. Medical and media duties were done as well.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
I think like many of us, we couldn't see past relegation and the difficulty of coming straight back with a new manager and an aging team, the reset has worked so much better than what I expected. However, looking at other relegated sides you don't see many if any that went through the wholesale changes we did.
Everton going down could be just what they need but they need a board and manager that can see how much change is needed, along with vision to decimate the side they have, many of the first team won't want be playing football in the second tier, I don't believe they would have the vision or be brave enough. Southampton have very similar issues but I think they would adopt to wholesale changes better than Everton, any relegated club will be looking at this BFC model and wondering if it would work for them.
I think Southampton going down means they have a ready made, proven player at this level, BFC would be a EPL club and can afford it so the price in summer will be very high, for these reasons I'm not sure we get Tella in summer but I'm convinced he'd like to switch to a permanent position with BFC.
Wouldn't expect to see Tark's and McNeil coming back to us though.

The problem Everton have had for several season is that they could not get rid of the players they wanted to because they were on such ludicrously high contracts - that is coming to an end to a degree - though word is they are paying Tarks and McNeil a combined £200k per week - those wages made it difficult to shift players on though somehow they got the Premier League to accept it was down to Covid impacted market conditions to pass FFP.KateR wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 4:08 pmI think like many of us, we couldn't see past relegation and the difficulty of coming straight back with a new manager and an aging team, the reset has worked so much better than what I expected. The question is have they learned the lessons of last season and put relegation clauses in the new deals - if not then moving players on is going to be difficult to say the least

1. He's naffed off playing in a poor team
2. He's playing on the left of a back three. Not suited to that position. Right footed and no quick enough.
He was great for us in the style we played at the time. He Mee and Pope were excellent.

Does a player have the opportunity to be sold with a reduction in salary or is he tied to the contract he signed?
I guess with a relegation a lot of clubs would be happy for their big earners to move on whilst others would keep them trying to bounce back.

Burnley waiting for the player to fly and get his work permit. Visa is required now… As a reminder, #Burnley got an agreement with #Westerlo for 7M€ + bonus in case of promotion in PL.

Can anyone advise on whether they think the work permit for Forster will be a formality or not ? And a visa as well?
You would expect Burnley wouldn’t have taken it so far if they weren’t confident. What does anyone who knows a bit about the criteria think ?

Re: January transfer window rumours.
Predominantly especially in tarks case if I'm allowed to mention him, due to FFP evertons new policy seems to be picking up free agents & gazumping other clubs offering them better terms costing them more in wages but saving them on transfer fees so why would players accept adjustments when they have already waived other offers prior. In response to CP.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
Nationality only really a factor if you’re a regular for your country. The higher the country you’ve represented are in the FIFA rankings, the more points you get. If you’ve never/barely played, it doesn’t matter if you’re from France or Venezuela.

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but Bournemouth today signed Nicolas Jackson for £20m from Villarreal, a striker who's netted 3 in 24 this season and he's going for £20m+ the game has gone mad.

Isn’t he more of an attacking midfielder? (similar to Brownhill in our set up). I’ve only ever seen him play there.

I don't think he's really a centre forward, he's just been deployed there this season by Villarreal. Here's his bio:
https://www.epicsportsafrica.com/player ... s-jackson/
My guess is Villarreal have been doing the typical Spanish thing and playing him as a false 9 or something.
