It’s like saying Sean Dyche is a better manager than Pep Guardiola he’s just not got the same tools, it’s pure nonsense. The best get the top jobs, like in F1 the best drive the best cars.

If Robins was such a great manager he wouldn’t be stuck at the likes of Barnsley, Huddersfield and Coventry. The reason he hasn’t been poached is because he hasn’t achieved anything, you can cry about budget all you want, Dyche managed automatic promotion on nothing. At least Robins has 2 strikers he spent £10M+ on at his disposal.

Pretending Robins is better at challenging for automatic promotion than VK in the Championship is pure stupidity. Their records don’t even belong in the same sphere.
Personally think what you miss is that the circumstances matter.

Do I think Pep is a better manager than Dyche? Yes. Do I think Pep would have kept Burnley in the PL when Dyche did- No.

So the circumstances do matter. Similarly I don't think Dyche would have won what Pep has with similar teams.

It was only earlier in this year you were laughing at suggestions McKenna could be anywhere near as good as Kompany- and yet his achievements with Ipswich are (in my opinion) at least as good, if not better than what Kompany has achieved here so far.

Not saying i want Robins but you lack appreciation for the job that managers do relative to everything else. It's evident by your hatred of Dyche.

I can’t see it happening, but if it does wow were we naive to stick with VK this season.

He has been extremely naive and stubborn.

So much so, particularly regarding his pig headedness. Somebody mentioned Trafford. I think that Lad’s career could be ruined not to mention his confidence.

Does Kompany think he knows best? Has he learned from his mistakes? I bloody well hope so or its time to go.

Exactly this.

I don’t want him to go, but it’d be beyond daft to get rid of him now the season has ended.

Very true. I think it's fair to say if we'd have changed manager in Jan there is a very good chance we'd have another 3 to 6 points at least which would have given is a very good chance of staying up.
I was glad we didn't change with the idea that long term we are better with Kompany in charge. If he leaves now then the season has been a complete and utter waste and we are back at square one in a worse position than last season where Kompany was basically signed before the end of the season.

The problem most people have with Vinny is that we knew the mistakes back in July. Most of us talked about left back, holding midfield, striker, left footed central defender. We didn’t sign anyone of note in any of those positions apart from the right footed Beyer. We then talked about Muric having to play. We talked about playing it out from the back, especially with a rookie keeper, biting us on the arse.

But when push comes to shove, the Championship teams will be terrified of him, after last time and due to past reputation.

So we keep him, support him, and hope his naivety reduces in 12 months time, because it should.

Every other option is crazy in comparison, at least for next season.

No.
You may recall that SD’s team was relegated in their first season in the Premier League. He came back from the Championship to keep us in the top tier for a further six seasons. I believe Vincent can get us back there.

The one difference being that we didn't spend much money in 2014/15 with the bulk of what we made to be used for the training ground.

Probably just a language barrier there - it reads to me that he’s saying “you won’t have Kompany for life Alan, he’s not going to heaven with you” as opposed to the death threat it initially looked like :D

Petty from both and a little bit ‘Darragh McAnthony’ for me.

Haha imagine if VK is talking to people without pace knowing about it.

This could look so embarrassing for him.

Yes fair point.

I am personally of the opinion that Pace is deflecting.

I suspect there’s an element of truth to the point that VK is probably looking at options

Doesn't really matter - he's a decent manager and done well.

Not said that I want him to replace VK but relative to his budget has performed very well.

Aye and that bloody Sean Dyche that you wouldn't stop banging on about how sh1t he was ended up at a far bigger club than ours and would do a job anywhere - he just isn't fashionable.

On your sh1te F1 analogy - did Lamps deserve the Chelsea gig then?

Also, do you know that Robins is a European Cup winner?

Do you......... know anything about.... anything?
Aye I’m aware of Robins’ playing career.

Robins has done ok at Coventry but showed no signs of being a manager capable of challenging at the top of the division. He hasn’t had peanuts either, he’s spent more than most albeit replacing the likes of Gyokeres and Hamer.

If VK left I’d rather we gambled on someone like Ruud Van Nistelrooy or the young German fella at Sheffield Wednesday over some British journeyman who has had numerous shots at different clubs and failed to form a side capable of promotion.

Managing a side in mid table is a little different to managing the side favourites to lift the title, a club who has achieved promotion in our last 3 Championship seasons.

If this was Burnley 20 years ago, the likes of Robins, Rowett, Lowe, Mowbray would be decent options. Not for me right now though.

Pace and Sacha starting from a blank sheet apparently. Whatever that means. Sacha looks to be trying to save face.

Pacey is probably lining up Cashley Cole for the player/manager role.

Could kill two birds with one stone given the problems we have in that position.

IMHO, for what it’s worth, why would we want to sack VK now. If he’s up for it and wants another crack at the Championship, we should let him. At least he has an affinity with the club, and has a fantastic record in the Championship. Who would replace him? Some clueless ex pro like Rooney, Lampard or Gerrard? No thanks. Ashley Cole as No 2? Again, a big NO from me.

No-one has suggested that Pace is going to sack Kompany - obviously he isn't.

Nor did Tavolieri say that Robins or Cole were getting the job.

He simply said that Burnley were assessing various options, including Robins, in the event that VK was tempted away to another club like Brighton or Brentford.

Some fans on X over-reacted to that and then Pace, like a teenager, posts a childish GIF in response to Tavolieri.

Then they kissed and made up.

The whole thing is pathetic.
