Re: Next manager
I think AP had a lot lot more notice about VKs intentions on leaving than we are led to believe. The fall out of VK and Bells is an indicator which was weeks before his departure. AP has wasted no time at all getting all at BFC to do their due diligence and getting the managerial and backroom staff shortlists drawn up, that's why all of a sudden all these names are popping up now.
I would like to think AP now has who he wants and it's just a matter of contract and personal terms.

I would say a report from a Swedish paper about a manager managing in Sweden would be more reliable then Nixon or jones talking about him

It’s certainly plausible that Jensen could of been on a list of names to become kompanys new assistant, as we knew Bellamy was due to leave

Another interview.RVclaret wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2024 1:16 pmAnother possible link to Jensen is Hendrik Rydstrom who was at Kalmar with him, and currently manages Malmo. But then again surely we can’t be taking two managers from the same league![]()
Rydstrom was in the betting for the Brighton job recently and is now into 3rd favourite for us. Brighton fan article here discussing his style of play:

Why would we be appointing an assistant manager when we have no manager? I don't get this. Managers bring their own assistants and backroom staff generally speaking.

Youl Mawene has left his role at Fleetwood Town to become Burnley’s new performance coach, according to Training Ground Guru.
The Frenchman, who played for Preston North End during his playing career, returned to Fleetwood in September 2021, having previously worked for the club for eight years as a player and fitness coach. In between he was a strength and conditioning coach at Salford City.

Reading in between the lines mate, I think this suggests we have our man now and he's told us who he wants as parts of his team.
To me, this also suggests that our man is someone who is currently employed rather than a free agent.

I suppose there’s a theory that in the Championship, and particularly if we kept our current more exciting players like Koleosho, Amdouni and Odobert, that could be a great watch.HahaYeah wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2024 1:58 pmFrom link:
Rather than players remaining in fixed areas, spread out across the pitch to stretch and switch the play, this new-style pioneered by Diniz effectively involves as many teammates as possible flocking to where the ball is.
“The team go wherever the ball-carrier needs them, like a swam of bees protecting their queen,” is how The Independent describe it.
If it sounds like total chaos, that is because it is. But it is the sort of chaos opponents have no answer to. The other team cannot predict and therefore stop what a Rydstrom side is going to do because the Rydstrom side do not know themselves.
But if I’m honest it also sounds very high risk. Kompany’s style, whilst boring to watch at times, was effectively defending with the ball. Which I have to say I prefer to certainly Dycheball albeit both are to an extent anti-football in different ways.
Anyway, my point is more that Anass and Benson in particular thrived in that more structured system. I’m just not sure whether releasing the shackles would make them better or removed the structure that made them a success.
BUT, I think the ‘swarm of bees’ formation would surely get exterminated pretty quickly in the premier league?? Sort of the exact opposite to Dyche and arguably more risky than Kompany’s possession-based system on transition?

The new head coach will have to work alongside the existing coaching team?
It's all for continuity as the club feels too much power is awarded to the manager.

Is Kompany's style of play really much more entertaining than Dyche's? If we compare Kompany's first season with Dyche's championship seasons, I enjoyed both of them very much. And conversely, Kompany's second season in comparison with either of Dyche's relegation seasons - they were both dire. Possession football, done badly, is no more entertaining than more direct football; and more direct football, done well, is no less entertaining than possession football.NewClaret wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2024 3:39 pmI suppose there’s a theory that in the Championship, and particularly if we kept our current more exciting players like Koleosho, Amdouni and Odobert, that could be a great watch.
