burnley 194950Up the Clarets arrived in January 2016 but today we are taking a look back to produce some pages on the site that would have been here had the internet been available some seventy years ago.

Since launching the site, we’ve always included a page showing the fixtures and results along with the league game, which is updated as the results are confirmed, and last week the programme covers, front and back, were published for the recently ended 2018/19 season.

Today, the site has gone back to the 1940s, covering the first post-war season in 1946/47, the season we won promotion to the old First Division and played at Wembley for the first time, through to the end of the 1949/50 season with us having by then played three successive seasons in the top flight.

Firstly, if you look at the League Tables section on the top menu, the tables for all those four season are now included, those in which Burnley played which is the Second Division for 1946/47 and the First Division for the following three season. Move on to the Fixtures & Results and the four seasons are now included there and they include all the goalscorers both for Burnley and for our opponents. On the desktop version of the site, you can hover over both those links to display a drop down menu of all the seasons.

Finally, the Programmes feature, which was previously very popular, returned last week with the 2018/19 programmes. The four seasons from the 1940s have now been added to that.
