Last week, Sheffield Wednesday headed the north group of the Professional Development League, but defeat against Ipswich last Saturday sent them down to fourth and allowed their local rivals Sheffield United to go top once they’d beaten Crystal Palace two days later.

1718 burnley arlen birch 00 500x500Sheffield United made it three wins out of four and they lead the table with nine points, ahead of three clubs who have two points less. One of those is Nottingham Forest, currently in third place, and they are now the only unbeaten northern team having won two and drawn one. They lost their 100% record this week when they were held to a 4-4 draw by Coventry.

Down at the bottom of the north group, Bolton are the only team without a point but have only played two games while there are three teams just above them with one point each.

In the south group, it’s Coventry leading the way and the point they got in that game at Forest, the first points they’ve dropped, has taken them into double figures, a point ahead of QPR and Ipswich. They are also the league’s leading goalscorers with 14, five more than any other team. QPR are the one remaining team with a 100% record. They’ve won all three games.

There are no teams without points in the south group; Charlton are currently in bottom place with two points from four games.

We were without a game in the last week but we are back in action this week when it’s north v south yet again this week. The first game is tomorrow in this round of fixtures with the rest on Monday which includes our game at Watford. There will be one further week of these games before teams finally start to play against teams in their own league from Friday 22nd September.

The League Tables are updated as results are confirmed and can be found with our Fixtures and Results within U23/U18 Stats on the top menu.
