0506 burnley duane courtney 01Ex-Claret Duane Courtney has moved clubs again this summer, swapping Corby Town, where he played last season, for Redditch United.

The defender joined the Clarets from Telford in 2005 as the club moved quickly to sign after an injury to Wayne Thomas left us short of a central defender as the window was about to close. He went on to make just seven league appearances for the Clarets with only one of them a start, that the 3-2 win at Luton when John Spicer went in goal.

He’s played for a number of clubs since including The New Saints, Kidderminster, York, Tamworth, Alfreton and most recently Corby but now, at the age of 31, he’s joined Redditch for the 2016/17 season.

Courtney is one of a number of new signings already made by new manager Darren Byfield with the best known of them Clinton Morrison, the former Crystal Palace striker.
