Cup semi-final this week for under-21s
Burnley’s under-21 team have waited long enough to play the semi-final of the Final Third Development League Cup but it will go ahead against Middlesbrough this Friday.
As previously reported on Up the Clarets, we completed our group fixtures by November but had to wait until February before learning that two wins and one draw was enough to see us go through, but then had the long wait until last week to determine whether it would be Hartlepool or Middlesbrough who we would face in the last four.
Last Tuesday, as we prepared to play Boro in the Championship, they won their last group game to go through and the semi-final will, according to Middlesbrough, be played at their Rockliffe Park training ground this Friday, 29th April, kicking off at 1 p.m.
The winners will face an away game against Stoke in the final.
