Freddy Yao signs for Clarets
Burnley have today signed midfielder Freddy Yao on a contract until the end of the 2017/18 season.
The 18-year-old central midfielder has joined us today after completing his scholarship with Stoke. He played in a recent development squad game and impressed during a period on trial.
Prior to Stoke, the Ivorian born Yao had been with Fulham.
Michael Jolley said of him: “Freddy is a player we have looked at closely while he has been on trial here, and he performed extremely well and we think he is a player with great potential.
“He is a competitive, robust midfield player who can get around the pitch with a sound technique and he is a good character, which is important when you are bringing new players to the squad.
“He has worked hard and impressed since coming in and he deserves his chance to be at Burnley and we are happy to give it to him.”
