1718 burnley jonathan walters 03 1000x500Martin O’Neill has named his provisional Republic of Ireland squad for key World Cup qualifiers against Moldova and Wales with four Burnley players selected.

Jon Walters (pictured) misses out because of the knee injury which Sean Dyche has already confirmed will take him some time to recover from, but there are places for defenders Kevin Long and Stephen Ward and midfielders Robbie Brady and Jeff Hendrick.

They are currently third in the group and everything for that second place could come down to the last qualifier against Wales in Cardiff which is the second of these two games.
