Burnley are back in Youth Alliance League action this afternoon with the away game against Rochdale, postponed last month, being played at Stainton Park, the home of Radcliffe Borough.

Rochdale are one of the three teams that have beaten us in the league this season. They recorded a 2-0 win at Gawthorpe back in September against a depleted Burnley team. It was a game that really could have gone either way with Rochdale winning it with two goals in two minutes during the second half.

They also beat us again at Gawthorpe in the Youth Alliance Cup. This time the result was 2-1 when Tommy Wood (pictured) scored our goal.

Rochdale, along with Accrington, have played less games than any other team in the league; they have five games in hand on Shrewsbury who are one place above them. They are currently four places behind us with six points less.

Last season they ended our interest in the Lancashire Youth Cup but it was all square in the league with both teams recording away wins.

We were beaten 4-1 at home with Nashé Chakwana having scored our goal but in the away game earlier in the 2015/16 season we were 2-0 winners in a game also played at Radcliffe. Our goals that day were scored by Wood and Josh Dolling when we probably played as well as we did in any game all season.

Kick off today at Stainton Park is 1 p.m.
