Michael Jolley’s departure to Sweden recently has brought changes to the coaching set up in the academy. It has seen Michael Duff move up to replace Jolley to work with the under-23s and now former Everton, Bradford City and Huddersfield forward Danny Cadamarteri leaving Sheffield Wednesday to become our new youth team coach.

We’ve moved swiftly to bring in Cadamarteri who has been working with the youth team at Sheffield Wednesday who will be one of our opponents in the forthcoming season. He had a long playing career which started with Everton and ended at Carlisle when he was forced to finish because of a knee injury in 2014 at the age of 34. He’ll probably be best remembered by Burnley fans as one of the two Bradford City players sent off on the day they came back with nine men against us to draw 2-2. That day his manager was Nicky Law who himself joined our academy staff during last season.

With his playing career over, he moved into coaching and accepted a position as a coach in Sheffield Wednesday’s academy before, now, making the move to Burnley.

Up the Clarets are big supporters of the academy and would like to wish him very best in his new role.
