Hart is best again in Chelsea defeat
Despite conceding four goals, Joe Hart was again voted our best player in the Chelsea defeat, just as he’d been a week earlier in the 5-0 loss at Manchester City.
The performance has taken him further ahead at the top of the Up the Clarets Player of Year Table while also winning him the player of the month for a second successive month, just beating James Tarkowski .
He was very definitely a big winner against Chelsea, winning both the man of the match vote and the player ratings by some distance. He polled 56% of the vote, way ahead of Steven Defour who came in second on his first Turf Moor appearance since January. Defour won 18% of the vote with Guðmundsson securing third place with a 10% share. Robbie Brady, playing for the first time since suffering a knee injury at Leicester last season, was fourth with 4% of the vote.
It was the same top three in the ratings with Hart way ahead, scoring 7.57 out of 10. Defour had a rating of 6.39 and Guðmundsson scored 6.07. Fourth place went to full back Charlie Taylor with a rating of 5.84 out of 10.
Tarkowski won the August player of the month with Hart following in September. Tarkowski looked set to win again in October but Hart moved two points ahead of him in the month with this result and it has also taken him 18 points clear at the top of the player of the year table.
The next vote will start this Saturday following the game at West Ham. The Chelsea result is below, followed by the October player of the month result and the current player of the year table.
