Lilleshall trip ends with defeat for under-23s
Our under-23 squad have been away for the past few days, training at the National Sports Centre at Lilleshall. It’s been a week of training mixed with the now familiar team bonding which has seen them enjoy a day visit to RAF Shawbury.
They’ve also played two matches during the week. Earlier we reported on the 4-1 victory over Walsall, played at Lilleshall, but yesterday the team travelled to the Wolves training ground where they were beaten 3-1 by their hosts.
Despite almost taking an early lead, we were hit with three quick goals from the home side which saw us end the first half 3-0 down but it was a better showing after the break when we pulled one back through Tunde Bayode (pictured) and might have added another couple of goals.
The Professional Development League gets underway next weekend with the Clarets set to play home games again at Curzon Ashton, but as yet the Premier League haven’t released the fixtures.Share this page :
