1516 burnley daniel agyei 00 630x420Striker Dan Agyei and Northern Ireland under-21 international goalkeeper Conor Mitchell have both signed new contracts at Burnley. Both have committed to a further year with the club having a further year’s option with Mitchell.

Agyei has been with Burnley for three years having signed fromWimbledon after a successful trial during pre-season in 2015. He spent the first half of last season on loan at Coventry and has this season played for both Walsall and Blackpool.

It was in the second half of last season that he made a Premier League debut for the Clarets, coming on as a substitute at Liverpool.

He said: “I’m delighted to be staying. Hopefully I can come back next season and kick on and try and push for a place in the team.”

1516 burnley conor mitchell 00 630x420Mitchell joined Burnley as a scholar in 2012. He’s been on loan at non-league clubs. While not having played a first team game, he has been on the bench.

He’s been a regular for his country at under-21 level with Michael O’Neill having recently suggested that he could soon get call ups for the full international squad.

Up the Clarets are delighted that these two young players will be continuing their development with Burnley and wish both of them well.
