Burnley’s next game in the Professional Development League comes tomorrow night and, despite drawing their game 0-0 last Friday against Nottingham Forest, Bolton remain in pole position at the top of the league.

1718 burnley arlen birch 00 500x500They kicked off the game ahead of Sheffield Wednesday on goal difference and that’s where they stay after Wednesday replicated Bolton’s goalless result in their game against Hull three days later.

Bolton’s lead at the top remains as close as it could be. Both of the top two have a goal difference of plus six with Bolton there courtesy of having scored three more goals.

The team currently in form in the league is Birmingham. They played twice last week, beating us and then next to bottom Crewe. Their recent form has taken them well clear of the bottom of the table and they are now closing in on the top half.

There is a full fixture list coming up for the north group in the next week, starting with our game tomorrow. A number of the teams will also be involved in the Premier League Cup as the group games start to come to a close.

In the south, a hat trick from Crystal Palace’s James Daly has extended his team’s lead at the top by one point. Whilst they were beating QPR yesterday, second place Ipswich were beaten by Charlton and that’s allowed Coventry, winners against Colchester, to move up to second.

The player featured this week is right-back Arlen Birch who is currently captaining the side.

The League Tables are updated as results are confirmed and are alongside our Fixtures and Results within U23/U18 Stats on the top menu.
