1819 burnley robbie brady 00 500x500Sean Dyche has given an update this afternoon on the current injury situation at Turf Moor and while things are improving, Saturday’s game will come too early for Robbie Brady who got a full ninety minutes in this week in a behind closed doors game against AFC Fylde. There is still more work for Brady to do but he’s getting closer to a return.

Steven Defour played in that game. He’s back at Burnley now after returning to Belgium following the loss of his dad. He’d previously played at Burton and was on the bench at Cardiff so it can be expected that he will be in Saturday’s match day squad.

There’s some good news too on Nick Pope who is back on the grass with goalkeeping coach Billy Mercer while Dyche confirmed that Stephen Ward will be absent for weeks after having had tidy up surgery on his knee this week.

There’s also good news on Ben Gibson who should get some sort of football in the next week while he’ll have to budge one of the central defenders, when fit to get into the team. James Tarkowski is an England squad member and Dyche took the opportunity today to say that captain Ben Mee should be considered more seriously for England.
