1920 burnley rob harker 00 500x500Having drawn last Friday’s opening league fixture at Millwall, the under-23s have drawn again this afternoon in a friendly game against Doncaster Rovers, held at Doncaster’s training ground.

It was 1-1 at Millwall but 3-3 today for a much changed Burnley team that saw only four players, namely Anthony Glennon, Josh Benson, Christian N’Guessan and Rob Harker, start having been in the starting line up at Millwall.

We took the lead after 20 minutes; the Doncaster goalkeeper saved from our trialist but Lewis Richardson was on hand to score from close range, and it was Richardson who was brought down in the box which led to Harker (pictured) doubling our advantage from the penalty spot.

There was a flurry of goals just before half time. Doncaster pulled one back, we restored our two goal advantage through Benson only for Doncaster to score again.

That 3-2 lead looked as though it would see us through to a win but, after a quieter second half, Doncaster equalised with the last kick of the game.

We’ll next be in action on Monday, 19th October when we play our first home league game of the season against Coventry at Turf Moor.

Burnley lined up: George McMahon, Ryan Cooney (Joel Senior 64), Jimmy Dunne, Scott Wilson (Oliver Younger 58), Anthony Glennon, Ne-Jai Tucker, Josh Benson, Christian N’Guessan (Adam Phillips ht), Trialist (Ali Koiki ht), Rob Harker (Will Harris 64), Lewis Richardson (Jordan Cropper 75). Subs not used: Teddy Perkins, Bobby Thomas.
