After finishing second in the qualifying group, the Republic of Ireland have been drawn against Denmark in the play-offs with the winners earning a place in next summer’s World Cup Finals in Russia.

And Martin O’Neill, as is usual, has named a provisional squad of 34 players and that squad will be reduced closer to the games which are scheduled for 11th and 14th November with the second of the games to be played at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

Jonathan Walters remains out with an injury but O’Neill has called up four Burnley players in Kevin Long, Stephen Ward, Robbie Brady and Jeff Hendrick.
