Cardiff are our opponents tonight with Russell Slade bringing his side from South Wales for this important Championship clash.

Our visitors are just on the fringes of the top six and Slade said: “We’re still outside and the challenge for us is to get into that top six. Despite the win (against Derby), we’re still a couple of points adrift and we’re running out of games.

“It’s important to try and build on the momentum we had before the international break. I always think that first game back is an important one, we managed to win it and that hopefully will give us confidence going on into this game.”

Clarets’ boss Sean Dyche says his players are ready after the draw at Brighton. “Physically we’re looking superb,” he said. “We’re showing really high stats, similar to where the players were at the beginning of the season, and that’s a powerful feeling to have going forward.

“There’s still a freshness and an ability to play strong football technically and physically for ninety minutes plus, and that’s a strong marker as well. We know Cardiff are coming here and they mean business, but we mean business too.

“Every game you play is important. That’s been our way of looking at it all season and that’s where we ‘re at now. It’s an exciting pressure and I enjoy it; I’m only human. You’re anxious and nervous but you’ve got to enjoy it as well and that’s what this terrific game is all about.

“I have so much belief in my players, staff and the fans. People forget on Boxing Day we were eight or nine points behind the leaders and they had a game in hand. Now, all of a sudden, we’re in the position we’re in and we’ve worked very hard to get to where we’ve got to, but it’ sonly a so far story.

“So far we’ve made a strong case for ourselves to go back into the Premier League again but we’ve got several big games to go. So have the others but we can, and will, only focus on ourselves.”
