Ireland call for Ward
Stephen Ward, who has won 31 caps for the Republic of Ireland, seven of them since signing for us in August 2014, has been called up by Martin O’Neill for the provisional squad for their two friendly internationals later this month against Switzerland and Slovakia.
It’s a 40 man squad, something O’Neill does regularly, and will be trimmed down a few days before the first game.
Both games will be played at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin. The first is against Switzerland on Good Friday 25th March with the Slovakia game coming four days later.
