Jackson recalled from Southport by Clarets
When Burnley beat Swansea City yesterday in the Premier League Cup, I was surprised to see Brad Jackson named in the team given that he is currently on a season long loan at Southport.
Earlier this month, Burnley confirmed that Jackson would be remaining with the Sandgrounders for the rest of the season which added to the confusion.
However, Southport have confirmed this morning that Jackson has now returned to Turf Moor after a change of mind by the Clarets. Via their website, Southport explained: “The club can confirm that Brad Jackson has been recalled by Burnley FC. His loan agreement contained an option for Burnley to recall Brad during January and this option has been exercised.
“We would like to thank Brad for his hard work and endeavour during his time with us, and wish him every success in his future football career.”
Jackson made 24 appearances for Southport following his move to Haig Avenue, the last of them coming against FC United of Manchester earlier this month when he lined up against three former Burnley players in Dave Lynch, Nathan Lowe and Jason Gilchrist.Share this page :
