Little change in youth league
The weather was the winner this week with five of the seven scheduled Youth Alliance League fixtures being postponed. The only games to go ahead were Morecambe v Tranmere and Shrewsbury v Walsall.
With the big game between leaders Wigan and third place Bury one of those called off, it gave Walsall a chance to move within a point of Wigan, but they are still four points behind and have played two games more after their defeat at Shrewsbury.
Shrewsbury and Tranmere have both moved within three points of Walsall and Bury with Tranmere winning the other game. Their 3-1 win at Morecambe was no surprise against the league’s bottom club.
That was it, Accrington’s game on Friday was off as were the games at Fleetwood, Preston, Rochdale and Wigan on Saturday.
Those results are below followed by this week’s fixtures. Burnley are without a game. The next time we play will be at Fleetwood a week tomorrow in the game rearranged from Saturday.
