Connor Roberts was ridiculously sent off towards the end of last Saturday’s 3-1 win against Middlesbrough with referee David Webb taking advice from his assistant that he’d handled the ball on the line when it had actually hit the bar.

Burnley appealed the red card and have learned today that the appeal has been won and Roberts will not be facing a one match ban.

Had he been suspended, it’s reported by the club that it would have come in next Tuesday’s league game against Birmingham and not tomorrow in the League Cup at Old Trafford whereas local media have suggested the suspension would have come tomorrow but he’s now free to play in both games.
