Striker Wout Weghorst has today signed a loan deal with Manchester United with his loan deal with Beşiktaş having been terminated.

I was on my way home from Bournemouth last Saturday when this potential move first surfaced, that he was wanted by United and things have happened quickly since. It appears that there was no clause in the deal between Burnley and the Turkish club to enable us to recall him and it looks as though they have now done a deal with United to enable this move.

Weghorst joined us from VfL Wolfsburg a year ago and scored in away games at Brighton and West Ham but he lost his place in the team during the latter part of the season when Michael Jackson was in charge.

He will now play for United for the remainder of this season after which he will still have a further two years of his contract at Burnley to run.
