Tarkowski makes five
James Tarkowski was once again named in Gareth Southgate’s England squad this afternoon, taking the number of Burnley players called up on full international duty to five.
Having won two caps already for England, he’ll be hoping to add to that in two Nations League games against Croatia and Spain. Both of the games are away. England play Croatia in Rijeka on Friday 12th October before moving on to Seville and the return against Spain on the following Monday, 15th October.
The one disappointment for Burnley is that Tarkowski is the only Burnley player selected. There were hopes that Joe Hart, who has been in excellent form for us, might return but he’s been overlooked with such as Alex McCarthy and Marcus Bettinelli among the four goalkeepers. Hart, for now, will remain on 75 caps.
