One player not coming to Burnley this summer is Leicester City’s Marc Albrighton with the East Midlands club confirming this afternoon that he’s signed a new deal with them.

Albrighton, aged 31, had just one year remaining on his contract. Burnley were keen but Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers was reportedly as keen to keep him at the King Power.

Rodgers has won; Leicester have confirmed that Albrighton has signed a deal until the summer of 2024 and Abrighton said: “I’m delighted. Obviously, it’s a club that is progressing every single year. It’s a fantastic club with the people here and the direction that they’re going, it’s great to be a part of.

“I have always been the type of player and person who wants to establish himself at a club and stay there. I’m settled here and I’m really enjoying it.”

Albrighton joined Leicester from his first club Aston Villa in the summer of 2014 and has gone on to play over 200 league games for them.
