Back in January we were due to play AFC Wimbledon at Plough Lane in the third round of the FA Youth Cup but on the day before the game was due to be played the competition was suspended until further notice.

Twenty of the ties in the round had been played but the remaining twelve ties are now scheduled to be played by the end of next week with the competition now, provided there are no further restrictions, mapped out through to the final.

All of the outstanding third round ties are to be played by Saturday, 20th March, a week on Saturday, and, according to the FA, we will play our game next Thursday, 18th March with a 6 p.m. kick off although the venue, expected to be Plough Lane, is still to be confirmed.

Should we win, we will be at home in the fourth round against Tottenham who won through with a 6-2 win against Newport in January on the day the competition was suspended, and the FA plan is for all games in this round to be played by Saturday, 3rd April.

Further dates provided by the FA are for the subsequent rounds to continue to be played at fortnightly intervals, so the fifth round by 17th April, quarter-finals by 1st May, semi-finals by 15th May with the final to be played by 29th May.

The outstanding third round games are already underway with Leicester kicking off by beating Sheffield Wednesday 5-0 last week.
