There are two games to go this season for the under-18s and the first of them will kick off at 12:30 p.m. today against Derby County at the LFA County Ground at Leyland.

It’s been a tough run of results for the team which has, over recent weeks, seen many changes with players coming in from the under-15s on occasions. Today is no different with that team represented by midfielder Joe Bauress and he lines up alongside eight first year scholars and just one second year scholar Tremaine Eastmond (pictured), who has had a difficult time with injuries. They will play in front of third year scholar Harry Allen in goal.

The away game at Derby was played in February and ended in a 2-1 defeat for the Clarets. We fell behind early in that game with a goal scored by Will Grewal-Pollard but Cory Brennan equalised for us midway through the second half. Unfortunately we were level for just four minutes before Rhys Brailsford scored the final goal of the game to give Derby the points.

Today’s team is: Harry Allen, Keelan Williams, Jack Leckie, Dan Sassi, Dane McCullough, George Walters, Jacson Coppack, Joe Bauress, Ruairi Behan, Tremaine Eastmond, Joe Smyth-Ferguson. Subs: Charlie Casper, Benn Ward, Will Hugill, Kade Ratchford, Michael Mellon.
