It’s Plymouth in the Youth Cup
Last Friday, Burnley were drawn at home in the FA Youth Cup 4th round with a tie to come against Manchester City or Plymouth Argyle and I think we all knew which of the two it was going to be.
Manchester City have been in each of the last three finals and were expected to be one of the favourites again but have been stunned tonight with Plymouth holding them to a 0-0 draw and then beating them on penalties.
At one point in the shoot out City led 3-1 and Plymouth were never in front until they’d won it, claiming a 6-5 shoot out win after seven penalties each. City have, therefore, followed Manchester United out of the competition; they were beaten by Derby earlier this week.
We now look forward to facing Plymouth in round four in the new year.
