Own goal gives Burnley the points at Fleetwood
A close game ended in a 1-0 win for our under-21s this afternoon against Fleetwood at Poolfoot Farm with the winning goal an own goal some eleven minutes from time.
The goal came after we won a free kick taken by substitute Renaldo Torraj (pictured). It was diverted into the net by Fleetwood’s Harry Wilson and was enough to win us the points.
The teams were;
Fleetwood: David Harrington, Harry Wright-Ocana, Kyle White, Will Johnson, Finley Potter, Xavier Simons, Sam Glenfield, Sam Fishburn, Pharrell Brown, Junior Quitirna, Tom Hoyle. Subs: Pat Boyes, Theo Butterworth, Harry Wilson, Theo Williams, Dom Richmond.
Burnley: Sam Waller, Alex Healy-Byrne, Benn Ward, Murray Campbell, Brad Grant, Will Hugill, Tommy McDermott, Joe Bevan, Vernon Masara (Basilio Rieno Socoliche 64), Tom Tweedy (Renaldo Torraj 64), Mikey O’Neill (Ackeme Francis-Burrell 73). Subs not used: Harry Moss, Jack Turner.
