Woody receives the second Beeky
Burnley FC Supporters Groups were delighted to present the 2020/21 Alan Beecroft Player of the Year Award this afternoon to striker Chris Wood.
Since Alan (Beeky) passed away in January 2020, we’ve not been able to hold our player of the year evening and so, as was the case last year, it was arranged at Gawthorpe after the players had completed training.
The Olympics and international call ups have delayed this year’s winner until today, but we were delighted that Alan’s son Simon Beecroft was able to make the presentation, following on from Georgina, Alan’s wife, who made the presentation to Nick Pope last year.
We all hope that next year we will be able to resume the player of the year evenings when we look forward to having the Beecroft family as our guests.
