nottm forest 1000x500Burnley revealed this morning  that we would play against two Championship clubs in pre-season and they have now confirmed that the second one, to follow the game against Preston North End will be against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

This one will come as no surprise. For the last two seasons we’ve played games against Rangers at Ibrox. At the time they were managed by Mark Warburton, a former colleague of Sean Dyche at Watford, and with him now at Forest it was always a likely game to be pencilled in.

Forest, who were bought yesterday by Greek shipping magnate Evangelos Marinakis, retained their Championship place on the last day of the season with a 3-0 win against Ipswich, much to the delight of Burnley fans who then got out the jelly and ice cream.

Last time we were at the City Ground was in the 2015/16 promotion season. Having fallen behind to an Eric Lichaj goal, we secured a point with a superb late equaliser from Matt Taylor.

The Forest game will be played on Saturday 29th July.

All of the pre-season games can be found within Friendlies and Key Dates on the top menu.
