Goalkeeper Lukas Jensen, who is currently on loan at Carlisle United, is to have surgery next week on a wrist injury that will rule him out for six to eight weeks.

Carlisle manager Keith Millen said today: “He’s having surgery next week, and they’re confident it will heal the wrist and he should come back fitter and stronger.

“They’re not sure of the time, probably six to eight weeks. Hopefully it’s all clean and clear, the surgery, and we keep in touch and see how he recovers.”

Jensen had to wait for his opportunity at Carlisle. He was on the bench for the opening games with Magnus Norman preferred in goal although he did play in the League Cup and League Trophy games.

His opportunity in the league came at Bristol Rovers in early October after which they brought in the experienced Mark Howard who has been first choice since. More recently he played for our under-23s but has since suffered this injury which will keep him out until around the start of 2022.
